Our Beliefs

While we are not a creedal church, here is a brief summary of our basic doctrine.

————————————————————

We believe in the One Triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the final authority in all matters concerning faith, worship, and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Though eternally pre-existent, He was born of a virgin, ministered on earth in the power of the Spirit, was crucified for our sins, and was raised from the dead. He ascended to heaven and will return to judge all people, both living and dead, and to receive His followers. Only through personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord does anyone obtain salvation and eternal life. (I Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 17:31, John 3:16, Acts 4:12)

We believe that those who put their faith in Christ for salvation should be baptized by immersion as a symbol of their new birth and should partake of Holy communion when it is offered. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4, I Corinthians 11:23-32)

We believe in the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church today as in the first century church. (I Corinthians 14)

We believe the church is the body of Christ; individuals within the church have different functions and gifts. Jesus Christ is the head of His church. (Romans 12:3-8, I Corinthians 12, Ephesians 1:22-23)
